Mission Statement
Our mission is to lead the youth of Monroe to Christ, help them develop a Christian lifestyle as they enter adulthood, and to equip them to stand firm in their faith and share the gospel.
Our responsibility is to provide a nurturing environment where youth can experience Prayer, Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Ministry, and Evangelism. Daily prayer and family involvement are foundational to our ministry. We encourage youth to participate in corporate worship of God with their families. A Sunday School class for youth is provided to disciple youth in Christ; parents of youth are welcome and invited to attend. Weeknight fellowship and discipleship experiences are provided at the church to give the youth opportunities to bond with each other and reinforce the weekday Bible study habits desirable in young adulthood. Monthly ministry and evangelism experiences are provided to help youth develop a servants heart and enable them to share the gospel with others. Conferences and retreats are also supported to give youth opportunities to interact with other Christian peers.
Weekly Activites
For all youth 6-12 grade
Youth Sunday School in the Chapel from 9:30am to 10:30am
The youth Sunday School class focuses on teaching the Bible and supporting student-led prayer groups. The class generally includes worship songs, a Bible study that is centered around one of the 5 Purposes, and concludes with a student small group prayer.
Youth Group on Wednesday Nights in the Chapel from 6:30pm to 8:15pm
The youth of today are the adults of tomorrow. It is important that they develop a good understanding of God and his Word as well as good Christian habits. This time is about building relationships with God and Christian friends through games, muscial Worship, and Bible studies focused on answering the "why" questions that are often missed in youth Bible studies.
Five Purposes Focus
The youth group is currently following a 1 year plan that invovles Bible study and apologetics teaching with a purpose focus each month:
Nov - Jan: Worship
Feb-Apr: Discipleship
May-Jun: Fellowship
Jul-Aug: Ministry
Sep-Oct: Evangelism
Monthly Activites
Each month, we plan special youth events. This may include outings for fun (ice skating, bowling, cookouts, game night, movie night, jell-o wars, bike rides, etc...), mission projects (community projects, Angel Food Ministry Distribution, Community area clean up, minister to needy families), overnight lock-ins, youth conferences, and more.
WORLD CHANGERS®
In recent years, our youth have been very active in missions, primarily through World Changers®. Over two dozen of our students raised money and participated in a weeklong mission trip to help repair homes for those in need (roofing, painting, etc).
