BUILDING A LEGACY:

Construction Update - Current Pictures

The permit was issed by the city of Monroe at the beginning of April 2008!  During the months of April and May, the foundation will be accomplished.  The first week of June will bring 8-12 weeks of volunteer construction crews from all over the country:  Mississippi, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and more.  These volunteers are coming to Monroe for one week at a time in groups of 20-30 each week at their own expense.  The end of this summer should show great progress towards our completed facility.  Our hope is to worship on Easter Sunday (April 12, 2009) in the new facility!

More information in the July 2007 newsletter Adobe Acrobat File.

View of the stage.
The angled, corner walls of the stage will host two screens for viewing by the congregation during worship and other media needs. The screens are placed so that at least one screen is completely visible from practically anywhere in the auditorium.

Floor Plan

Floor Plan Modifications

MODIFICATIONS TO EXISTING BUILDING

1 A hallway will connect the main portion of the current building to the new construction.

2 Modification of the old nursery area will expand it to a larger size.

3 The main doors to the current sanctuary will be relocated to the center.

NEW CONSTRUCTION PLANS

4 A wide hallway to allow more space for movement.

5 Two sets of double doors going into the new auditorium.

6 Access to four preschool classes from the new hallway, two in the new building and two existing classrooms in the current facility.

7, 8 Two classrooms set farther back to allow for a built-in sound room and storage for our new worship area.

9 The main auditorium will accommodate two Awana circles as well as over 400 chairs for worship.

10 The kitchen will be located to the southwest corner of the new construction.

11 In the future, a 500-seat sanctuary will replace the area where our current office space is located.

12 A storage room for tables and chairs.

13 The stage for the new auditorium will have shaped walls.

14 Additional storage space behind the main stage.

15 An additional classroom added off of the old multipurpose room.

16 Four additional classrooms suggested by the dotted lines. These were originally included for future construction, but we hope to add these now, should we be able to secure the permits and the funding during our initial construction.
