Position - Assistant Preschool Teacher
Position Title: Preschool Assistant
Reports To: SonShine Preschool Director
Position Type: Part time-hourly
Sonshine Preschool is a Christ centered ministry of First Baptist Church of Monroe. All qualified applicants are expected to have a personal relationship with Jesus. We are located in Monroe, WA and our curriculum includes Bible teaching. This position is an assistant in one of our preschool classes for our 23/24 school year. Hours are 9am-2pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Additional hours will be required for our Christmas program, field trips and fundraisers. This position begins on September 5th BUT we would like to have you shadow our current assistant that is retiring over the next couple months. Online training will be required prior to September.
Hours: 9am - 2pm, Tuesday through Thursday. (15 hours weekly)
Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following duties satisfactorily.

Help provide and maintain a Christian environment in which the children may grow physically, emotionally, mentally, socially, and spiritually.

Become acquainted with each child and aware of his/her needs.

Give each child the attention needed to assure his/her best welfare. (This relates to eating, toileting, playing, working, health care, safety, etc.)

Cooperate in maintaining a happy atmosphere where children can grow and develop at their own pace.

Be familiar with and follow the established personnel policies and procedures.

Work according to the schedule outlined by your lead teacher and Director.

Maintain a clean and orderly room each day.

Enrich daily programs in a variety of ways, using the best methods of teaching to enhance the learning experience. As mutually agreed upon with your lead.

Clearly communicate with the classroom teacher. Be informed about each day’s activities and goals to anticipate setting up and helping effectively.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate shall:

Possess a living faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced in testimony and lifestyle.

Actively attend an evangelical Bible-believing church OR be willing to actively attend FBC Monroe.

Must be able to pass a local and regional criminal background screening.

Have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Demonstrate a basic love for children.

Be in good health, able to bend, stoop, lift and physically take care of children.

Be at least 18 years of age.

Be certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED or be scheduled to be certified within one month of hire date.
