FBC Weekly News (1-26-23)

What is happening this week?

  • Join us for service this Sunday at 10:30am for a challenging message: Joining God in Ephesus: The Healthy Body of Christ. No Children's Church this Sunday, enjoy the service as a family.

  • Come pray with us on Monday at 10am.

  • Please plan to join us on Sunday, February 5th right after service for our business meeting.

  • John D. is looking for help in re-setting our worship chairs each week. If you can lend a hand once a week, once a month, or just once, please let John know.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us. Also, please let Nancy N. know if you can help.

Join us on Saturday, February 18th as we do some much needed work outside. We will be removing the large trees out front, trimming back some trees, and general clean up. This will require many hands, so please plan to come and pitch in. We will plan to work 9am-4pm, come for the day or come for an hour, all help is needed and greatly appreciated. Please bring the following, if you have them: chainsaw, gloves, rake, wheelbarrow, and general weeding tools.

If you can not help with the work, please consider providing lunch to the work crew. Please let Kelly know if you can help with lunch.

**to help save us some money on rentals we are looking for someone who can pick up and tow to the church a wood chipper** Please let Kelly know if you can help out.

Join us in blessing our neighbors for the month of February. We are challenging each of our families to join us in our February outreach called “Love Thy Neighbor” for The Village Mentorship Program here in Monroe. This center works with teens in the Monroe area. They offer career based mentorship, school supplies and a safe teen space on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school where they offer a hot meal, computers for homework, board games and movies. Below is a list of the most needed items we are collecting in the month of February:

  • Drinks

  • Individually wrapped snacks

  • Food to make a meal (canned chicken, frozen raviolis/pastas, sauces and the like)

  • Prepared meals (frozen that can be heated up: chicken alfredo, cheese ravioli, pastas, and the like)

  • Teen rated books

  • Board games

  • Spiral notebooks

  • Composition notebooks

  • Crafting supplies

  • School supplies (pens, pencils, folders, note cards, felt tip pens, lined paper etc…)

  • Grocery gift cards

  • They are also looking to partner with one lady and one man to be mentors at the center. Preferably in some sort of business oriented role.

Please bring by your donation during office hours, or on a Sunday in February and drop it in our donation bins. If it requires freezing, please be sure your donation is given to Kelly directly. Donations will be accepted February 6-26th. Thank you ahead of time for blessing the community with your donation.

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

May God know us as people who give generously and sacrificially.
