WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

The gospel, meaning good news, is the message that Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, lived a perfect life in obedience to God’s law; died on a Roman cross in place of sinners and rose bodily from the grave three days later, so that by faith alone in Jesus we can be totally forgiven of our sin, reconciled to a relationship with God and counted as righteous before Him. (Mark 10:45; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 Peter 3:18; Romans 4:25; Romans 5:1-11)

“For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” -  Colossians 1:19-20, ESV
